Well, back from the biggest commercial racket on Earth....Christmas. In my case, Chanukah, but we just eat latkes, give dollars to our kids and play dreidels. So much for a bad economy...the stores and malls were packed, people bumping into you, rude people, nice people, idiot people, naive people, bad people, you name it you have it. Then there is the Salvation Army guy, conveniently located at the main entrance of selected locations. These guys know their racket, they ring the annoying bell, and they try by all means to make eye contact with you. Well, as long as you keep going straight and get out your phone and pretend to be talking that will do. The moment you make eye contact you are screwed.

You make eye contact, he will measure you, he will know if you are broke or not, hell, he will even know if you pay with debit cards or not. Then comes the "Merry Christmas" when you ignore him, with the ,much anticipated effect of making you feel miserable for not giving and rather using that same dollar to play Power Ball. This is how the Salvation Army guy makes you feel...

What can i say? it is the Holidays. Though I am Jewish, I don'tmind the Merry Christmas greeting, I don't mind the Christmas lights, I don't mind the cheesy Christmas movies or the trees. You know why? Because even with the commercial racket that the Holiday means nowadays, and knowing that the true spirit has been replaced by massive consumerism, behind that face there is at least, very deep in, the message of "lets live in peace and harmony", even if it is during these "12 days' as the song says. There is beauty in every one of us, I won't let my religious beliefs ruin that wonderful perception of beauty in us. Even if it takes me several trips to the mall.

Do you really think that you lost your mind? Or is it possible you never had any memories to begin with?
