Elections...again

 Tomorrow we go and vote...again. For whom? Unfortunately it has become about that. The better question will be: For what? January 06 2021 gave us a glimpse on to what a massive ego maniac is capable of doing in order not to walk out as a loser (which he did anyway). Democracy on the United Sates came very close to end. Yet, there were men and woman capable of standing up to their oath of defending the Constitution in which we stand for since 1788 and 1790. 

The GOP have lost its perspective and raison d'etre. It is now a party of a single man. They don't standup for democracy: they standup for a man, whom by all means fits the profile of a fascist dictator wanna be. What used to be a great party is now a party of one, with its leader blindly following a man to their own demise. Unfortunately, it will be the demise of the Country as well. Why? Because all they care is about their leader, not the people, much less the country. 

Go and vote, exercise your right to vote but be careful and think twice. This might be the last time you will be afforded that luxury.

Hace poco mas de un año, este servidor, el Compaí Bichú decidió cogerse un break de este espacio. Trump no me decepcionaba, seguía insultando a todo el mundo, jodiendo a quien pueda, cucando a los liberales de izquierda, en fin haciendo lo que mejor sabe hacer: joder el parto y joderle la paciencia a todo el mundo, es un tipo cuya filosofía es: no hay tal cosa como mala publicidad. Así que dije, "esto va a ser más de lo mismo hasta por lo menos el 2020, bastante predecible, no hay mucho que escribir así que me voy a recoger para buen vivir" me dije. Que equivocado estaba!

Hace una semana el Gobernador de Puerto Rico (PR) Ricardo Roselló se vió involucrado en un escándalo de ligas mayores cuando su ex-secretaria de educación, Julita Keleher fué arrestada por un lío de corrupción en el departamento que dirigía. Raro? No, que yo me acuerde uno de los más grandes escándalos que sacudió al Dr. Pedro Roselló (padre de Ricky) durante su liderazgo fué el arresto y convicción de Víctor Fajardo, ex-secretario de educación. Me dije: "que carajo, es un Roselló, eso no me debe extrañar, a estos tipos los coge de pendejo cualquiera" así que lo dejé quieto también y decidí no postear un carajo.

Un día o dos después explotó sendo peo: salió a relucir un "chat" que el Gobe tenía con sus panas donde se reunían a pasar el macho, relajar y joder, hablar mierda, diz que en privado. En ese chat salieron a la luz pública cometarios soeces que el Primer Ejecutivo sostenía regularmente con sus panas tirándole hasta a la Virgen Santísima si se metía en el medio!

Yo inmediatamente pensé: se jodió la bicicleta, se le llenó el cuarto de agua a este!" Por qué? Sencillo, porque no es lo mismo, yo, Juan Pendanga me junte con mis panas, Lupe el Cojo, Pepo Matapuercos, Efrain Egipziaco a hablar mierda de la gente y joder un rato. A quién le importa lo que hablamos? a quien pelamos? Si al fin y al cabo no somos figuras públicas ni tenemos cargo que envuelvan decisiones de política pública etc etc. Al fin y al cabo, lo que digamos o hagamos nosotros no vale un peo de puerca. A estos tíos no, ellos toman a diario decisiones de política pública que afectan el diario vivir de todos los residentes de la Isla. De hecho, ellos han botao como bolsa e mierda por una ventana a empleados de menor rango por comentarios similares, o hasta de menor importancia. O sea, el ejemplo empieza desde arriba papá!

El jueves, tras la publicación de los primeros mensajes, Rosselló pidió "perdón" por su participación en ese chat, aunque dejó claro que no iba a dimitir. O sea, "móntense en la pinga mía si creen que me voy por esta pendejada."

"Luego de analizar el contenido de las comunicaciones, resulta imposible para mí y para quienes esperan los más altos estándares éticos y de comportamiento continuar con esta controversia que distrae y obstaculiza la gestión pública tan importante que tenemos por delante". Dijo el Gobe. Sin embargo, el gobernador dijo que no dimitiría, que fue "electo por el pueblo" o sea...get a life! I ain't quitting y continuará la misión que le fue concedida, "ahora más que nunca"...."que saben que soy sendo jodedor!"

Naturalmente, en una Isla donde la gente es violenta por naturaleza (por mas que lo nieguen) eso ha desatado protestas, denuncias, marchas y de cuanta ostia de cosa hay por media humanidad exigiendo la renuncia del Gobe. Al fin y al cabo, ya botó a dos de los que estaban en el chat, por que no renunciar? Sería lo moralmente justo y ético, verdad? Bueno...ahí es donde está la raíz del problema: falta de ética y sentido común. Lo del sentido común yo se la dejo pasar, si total Rick tiene el cerebro sin usar, nuevo, de paquete, se puede hacer billonario vendiéndo, mint condition! Lo de falta de ética ya eso son otros veinte pesos. Una persona con un poco de conciencia ética renuncia, pero Ricky no tiene conciencia ética. Como el mismo dijo en uno de los chats..."cojemos de pendejo hasta los mismos nuestros!" y ni corto ni perezoso fue lo primero que hizo el Domingo cuando hizo un emergency stop en una Iglesia Aleluya, Cualquiera con un poco de inteligencia se acuerda que Ricky es Católico Romano, y que yo sepa no se convirtió al Señor en esa iglesia Aleluya el Domingo. A menos que haya estado pidiéndole a Dios un terremoto, otro huracán, o cualquier desastre para distraer a todo el mundo de esta debacle...Comclusión: OTRA SENDA COGIDA DE PENDEJO! no sólo a los miembros de esa iglesia, sino a todo el que le haya creido esa movida Don King! Este tipo no es tan bruto como parece, a veces pienso que se hace el pendejo para coger de pendejo a todo el mundo, y mira que muchos han caído!

Yo me imagino lo que le dijo a Johnny Mendez, Presidente de la Cámara de Representantes de PR, después que lo insultó: "Chacho Johnny, yo sé que bregué Chicky Starr contigo, pero eso fué relajando tú sabes, yo ni sabía lo que estaba diciendo, me bajé una Xanax con ron y ni me acuerdo de ná, tu sabes, peer pressure brother, es más, mándame el proyecto ese de Libertá Religiosa y te lo firmo pa seguida pa que veas que estoy dispuesto a bregar bien mano, chacho, sí???"

No para jugar a defensor der diablo, pero para decir verdad lo que dijo el Gobe con sus panaliches está protegido por la Libertad de Expresión de Primera Enmienda de la Constitución de EEUU. Protege a TODO el mundo, inclusive a Ricky! La gente dirá "no pero que no es lo mismo, el es Gobernador, está sujeto a un estándar mas alto etc" NO SEÑOR! Libertad de expresión aplica a todo el mundo! No hay ley que dice que no aplica a los gobernantes! Pregunténle a Trump! Ya eso es un asunto de falta de ética personal, ya eso es otro cantar. 

Que le faltó juicio? SÍ! Que fué un estúpido? SÍ. Recuerden, no tener juicio y ser estúpido no es ilegal!

Y esto para la multitud de parceleros que están pidiendo residenciarlo: Para proceder con un residenciamiento, tienen que seguir el protocolo establecido por la Constitución de Puerto Rico, eso es un poco cuesta arriba si no pueden probar que cometió delito y que las alegadas conspiraciones que estaban diciendo eran mas que vacilones, relajo y poca verguenza. Aparte de que el Partido que está en el poder, es el del Gobe, están en control por supermayoría de las dos cámaras, ellos no van a proceder con el residenciamiento. Los de la minoría se pueden caer de culo sometiendo proyectos de residenciamiento, simplemente es simbólico, no lo van a atender, van a gastarse al tío hasta Enero del 2021 a menos que renuncie. 

Ya el liderazgo del Partido (PNP) le retiró la confianza, lo que tienen que hacer es sacarlo de la presidencia del partido y abrir un proceso ordenado de primarias para que no pueda correr por el PNP en el 2020. Si Ricky quiere correr en el 2020, que lo haga por su cuenta, ya el debe de imaginarse cual será el resultado, que le pregunte a Hernán Padilla si no me cree.

Al liderazgo del PPD que están llorando como magdalenas"ay mira que debes de renunciar, que lo que dijiste está cabrón, que eres un insensible, que te mofaste de fulano y sutano, tu no vales ná! renuncia" : Por que ostia no se la pidieron a Acevedo Vilá cuando era gobernador y lo acusaron en el foro federal por 19 delitos? Si bien es cierto lo exoneraron, pero al momento de las acusaciones nadie lloriquió. Chorro de hipócritas, mírense bien el cuajo de sangre en el culo de ustedes antes de ciritcar la hemorroide del otro!

A los del PIP, lo que dijo el Gobe a falta de comisión de delito es libertatd de expresión, yo sé, yo sé, ustedes admiran a elementos como los Castro en Cuba y Maduro en Venezuela, valuartes y héroes de la libertatd de expresión. Si por ustedes fuera meten preso a uno por jalarse la paja, hasta por pensar mal del socialismo y la mierda esa que promueven. Get it over with! 

Por último, a  los electores en Puerto Rico, sí, ustedes también se van a coger mi aguita, por que USTEDES votaron por este pichón de orangután que tienen de gobernador, salieron de uno que parecía bruto y pendejo y se metieron en otro igual o peor. Tienen opciones de candidatos fuera del PNP, PPD y el PIP, no sigan condenándose a la misma mierda cada 4 años. Se están auto-clavando!

Esta para todos PNP, PPD, Pipiolos de la UPR, independientes, religiosos, ateos, jugadores de gallo, los que se pasan jugando caballos, boliteros, parceleros, etc y todos los que están leyendo este blog: Quién de ustedes NUNCA  se ha juntao con amistades o familiares a hacer lo mismo que hizo Ricky? O sea: a pelar a alguien , a hablar mierda de otro, a joder el parto en privado, usar palabras soeces? 

Que conste, no estoy defendiendo al energúmeno de Ricky, al fin y al cabo ya él mismo se mandó a joder.

Primero les imponen una junta de control fiscal para administrar la colonia y ahora su propio gobierno les traiciona.


Espero que abran los ojos (hasta el ojo del culo si pueden) y se den cuenta a quien realmente este gobierno apoya: la Legislatura, la comisaría residente y los municipios. Rosello Jr. ha vendido el derecho de los trabajadores a cambio de mas $$$ para que las susodichas ramas del gobierno se siguan despachando con la cuchara grande atravez de "contratos de servicios profesionales y asesoria" a sus amigotes y batatas politicas. Puerto Rico, a ustedes lo que falta es que un asteroid les caiga encima, si al fin y al cabo ya saben cuales son las prioridades de SU goberno electo atravez de ese beauty contest que llaman democracia.

This is the point that anyone who really cares about redressing a remedy for Puerto Rico, should begin with DEMANDING the U.S. Congress to IMMEDIATELY renegotiate the return of Puerto Rico to Spain so the now U.S. Colony could return to its status as a Province of Spain with full delegate representation and rights, something  Puerto Rico has NOT achieved during 177 years of U.S. Colonialism. The story we have been told, that Puerto Rico was a colony of Spain is simply NOT true. Puerto Rico at the moment of the negotiation of the infamous Treaty of Paris of 1898 was a Spanish province, the equivalent of what state is in the U.S.A.


Notice how Judge Torruella emphasizes:


"The starting point to this dismal path is the Treaty of Paris of 1898, which ended the Spanish-American War. In providing for the cession of Puerto Rico from Spain to the United States, the Treaty stated, in its Article IX, that "[t]he civil rights and political status of the native inhabitants . . . shall be determined by Congress."[21] This provision was contrary to the unwavering practice and prevalent constitutional law up to then regarding all other territorial acquisitions by the United States. In all prior cases, upon acquiring additional territory, U.S. citizenship and rights were granted to the inhabitants of the newly acquired lands, irrespective of the means used to add those territories to the Nation's domain.[22] "
"The new practice instituted after the Spanish-American War effected not only a departure from past practice by the United State but a retrogression from how things were in Puerto Rico during Spanish rule, under which the Island was a province of Spain (the equivalent of a state under the U.S. form of government), and Puerto Ricans were full Spanish citizens with the right to elect sixteen delegates and three senators to the Spanish Cortes (the equivalent of our Congress).[23] "

"Although shortly after his arrival General Miles had proclaimed to the Puerto Rican population that the United States would "promote their prosperity and bestow the immunities and blessings of [U.S.] enlightenment and liberal institutions and government,"[24] the United States instead imposed a military regime that abolished all forms of democratic representation in local government. Furthermore, despite Miles's bombastic promises, the colonial powers negotiated the Treaty of Paris and enacted Article IX without Puerto Rican participation or even consultation. The treaty and its Article IX were announced to Puerto Rico's inhabitants as a fait accompli, in which they were stripped of their Spanish citizenship and rights and required to give allegiance to a new colonial overseer under whom they would be without any rights except those that Congress, in which they had no vote, chose to grant in the future.     As an matter of American constitutional law, Article IX was clearly unconstitutional, for as Justice Kennedy stated in Boumediene v. Bush, "[t]he Constitution grants Congress and the President the power to acquire, dispose of, and govern territory, not the power to decide when and where its terms apply."[25] And, of course, it does not take a rocket scientist to conclude that neither the Treaty of Paris nor any treaty can trump (pardon my language) the Constitution by granting Congress powers that exceed those allowed by that document."       


This was and remains as of this day, a historical tragedy that has had sever political and socio-economic consequences for the people of Puerto Rico.

To even the score, our adorable Bibi and his chronies even the score with a proposed construction of 2610 homes in the Givat Hamatos area (more land grab by Israel, less land for a viable Palestinian State, no surprise here since Israel uses the International Community's non-recognition of their presence in the Palestinian territories pretty much like we use toilet paper).

We pretty much anticipated Abu Mazen's discourse, it is a yearly tradition whenever the UN has a major assembly, especially after a devastating war that left Gaza almost flattenned like a pancake. Lo and behold it was about time someone will actually do this, as insane and illusory as it sounds.Why? Mr. Seise obviously thinks that this is as simple as going to the local court in Hato Rey and contest a traffic ticket. In order to take the United States to the Hague Court, it will require another member state to file the petition. The Court’s role is to settle, in accordance with international law, legal disputes submitted to it by States and to give advisory opinions on legal questions referred to it by authorized United Nations organs and specialized agencies. The Court decides, in accordance with international law, disputes of a legal nature that are submitted to it by States (jurisdiction in contentious cases); and it gives advisory opinions on legal questions at the request of the organs of the United Nations or specialized agencies authorized to make such a request (advisory jurisdiction). Puerto Rico is NOT a state member, and good luck getting the government filing the case for them. They will need to piggy back ride their case through an organ of the United Nations sympathetic to this cause. Morally speaking, makes some sense since it would be very interesting in see how the United States can justify their taking of Puerto Rico from Spain by force by the use of the Treaty of Paris of 1898. For those of you who do not know about the Treaty of Paris of 1898, basically the United States, at gunpoint forced Spain to relinquish Puerto Rico, Cuba, Philippines, etc. Long story short, it was the threat of an attack to the Canary Islands and a wide spread war what the United States blackmailed Spain with.

This is  the same United States that was calling for sanctions against Russia for intervening in Crimea. Just with this slight difference: Over 90% of the population in Crimea are ethnic Russians, plus at least they got to vote on it. In 1898, 90% of the population of Puerto Rico were ethnic Spaniards, and they did not had the luxury of a vote on the matter. Thanks "Uncle Sam", for the convenient hypocrisy.

Realistically, the Reunificacionistas will need a majority of the legal registered voters to advance their cause. If it too 114 years for the Puerto Rico Statehood sympathizers to finally obtain a majority of voters to vote for Statehood in 2013, what makes anyone believe that this movement will achieve any kins of majority within the next 4 years? After all, Congress already legislated a referendum for Puerto Rico to decide among options that Congress already considered are the best possibilities for the Puertorican people to vote on. None of those options include Return to Spain, and if it does by an amendment of the Congressional act, it will doubtful get a pluralistic or significant amount of votes as to make a difference.

In other words Mr. Seise, if it is not in the ballot, the Hague Tribunal cannot undo the will of a majority of voters, just because you want to. Who said we are not allowed to dream? We can, and Mr.Seise has proven to be a resilient dreamer a la Don Quixote.

The perils of U.S. moral superiority complex

Crimea's are 90% ethnic Russians. Crimea's took a democratic vote (as much as the U.S. and it's minions refuse to believe) to secede from Ukraine and annexation with none other than their natural partner, Russia.

Of course, democratic votes are as good as the government taking such a vote, per the U.S.A. Our country loves to export our democratic model throughout the planet, and if possible throughout the confines of the universe. Yet, when such model is used against the so called U.S. interests, then the U.S. simply refuses to recognize the democratic process and replies back with...sanctions. Convenient hypocrisy, or moral superiority complex?

A good "memory refresher" for our friends in Washington, both Democrats and Republicans: The 1898 Treaty of Paris that brought to an end of the short lived Spanish-American war. The Spanish-American War had an overwhelming U.S. public support due to the popular fervor towards supporting Cuban freedom (and of course furthering U.S. economic interests overseas) The U.S. was especially interested in developing developing and having a stake in the sugar industry in Cuba.The U.S. military even resorted to falsifying reports in the Philippines in order to maintain public support for U.S. involvement abroad. Sounds familiar? Iraq 2003 anyone? The U.S. justified its participation in the war based on the principles of Manifest Destiny and expansionism, proclaiming that it was America’s fate and its duty to take charge in these overseas nations. 


Basically, at gunpoint, the United States forced Spain to relinquish the Philippines, Cuba and, Puerto Rico (this one not being a major point of interest, but since it was an all inclusive package, why not?)  During the Senate debate to ratify the treaty, Senators George Frisbie Hoar and George Graham Vest were outspoken opponents of the treaty.

This Treaty will make us a vulgar, commonplace empire, controlling subject races and vassal states, in which one class must forever rule and other classes must forever obey.

Some anti-expansionists stated that the treaty committed the United States to a course of empire and violated the most basic tenets of the United States Constitution. They argued that neither the Congress nor the President had the right to pass laws governing colonial peoples who were not represented by law-makers.

With the takeover of Puerto Rico, a territory that was 99% ethnic Spanish, the United States began a campaign of "Americanization". Did the United Sates gave the people of Puerto Rcio the chance to vote on this idea? No. On the contrary, it was forced deculturization. In 1899, U.S. Senator George Frisbie Hoar, the same one who first criticized the Treaty of Paris of 1898, had a sudden change of heart and  described Puerto Ricans as "uneducated, simple-minded and harmless people who were only interested in wine, women, music and dancing" and recommended that Spanish should be abolished in the island’s schools and only English should be taught.Schools became the primary vehicle of Americanization, and initially all classes were taught in English, which also made for a large dropout rate. Thank you Senator!!

In 1901, the first civilian U.S. governor of Puerto Rico, Charles Herbert Allen, installed himself as president of the largest sugar-refining company in the world, the American Sugar Refining Company. This company was later renamed as the Domino Sugar company. In effect, Charles Allen leveraged his governorship of Puerto Rico into a controlling interest over the entire Puerto Rican economy.By 1930, over 40 percent of all the arable land in Puerto Rico had been converted into sugar plantations, which were entirely owned by Charles Allen and U.S. banking interests. These bank syndicates also owned the entire coastal railroad, and the San Juan international seaport; land grab anyone?

Of course, it was all advancing U.S. interests in the Caribbean, so it was morally acceptable to become a colonizing nation, the same thing Washington and his cronies so much detested from the Brtish some 122 years earlier.

Now, 115 years later, this same Nation, the United States objects to the peaceful secession of Crimea from Ukraine by a democratic vote of the Crimean people and its annexation to Russia. A luxury not afforded by the people of Puerto Rico...Thank you uncle Sam!

History repeats itself, as recently as not even one decade apart

Iran boasts that it is a signatory of the NPT, and uses that rationale to justify its nuclear program for peaceful purposes. Many states, and many analysts and pundits claim that as such , the State of Israel is overreacting and being paranoid over the recent agreement with the P5+1, exchanging modest sanctions for a reduction in their nuclear work. Is Israel really overreacting as a paranoid state and having a tantrum over the World's inability to listen to their concerns? Let us first look back in our recent history and see what it has to tell us. 

The NPT is often seen to be based on a central bargain: “the NPT non-nuclear-weapon states agree never to acquire nuclear weapons and the NPT nuclear-weapon states in exchange agree to share the benefits of peaceful nuclear technology and to pursue nuclear disarmament aimed at the ultimate elimination of their nuclear arsenals.

Being a signatory to the NPT is meaningless, as good as used toilet paper. Let me refresh the P5 + 1 dull memory...North Korea was a signatory of the NPT, they ratified it in 1985. What happened in 2003? They announced its withdrawal from the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty. We all know what happened afterwards. 

North Korea ratified the treaty on 12 December 1985, but gave notice of withdrawal from the treaty on 10 January 2003 following U.S. allegations that it had started an illegal enriched uranium weapons program, and the U.S. subsequently stopping fuel oil shipments under the Agreed Framework.

 Under the 1994 Agreed Framework, the U.S. government agreed to facilitate the supply of two light water reactors to North Korea in exchange for North Korean disarmament. which had resolved plutonium weapons issues in 1994. The withdrawal became effective 10 April 2003 making North Korea the first state ever to withdraw from the treaty. North Korea had once before announced withdrawal, on 12 March 1993, but suspended that notice before it came into effect.On 10 February 2005, North Korea publicly declared that it possessed nuclear weapons and pulled out of the six-party talks hosted by China to find a diplomatic solution to the issue. "We had already taken the resolute action of pulling out of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and have manufactured nuclear arms for self-defence to cope with the Bush administration's evermore undisguised policy to isolate and stifle the DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea]," a North Korean Foreign Ministry statement said regarding the issue.



On 10 February 2005, North Korea publicly declared that it possessed nuclear weapons and pulled out of the six-party talks hosted by China to find a diplomatic solution to the issue. On the next day North Korea reiterated its known view that until it is supplied with a light water reactor it will not dismantle its nuclear arsenal or rejoin the NPT.On 2 October 2006, the North Korean foreign minister announced that his country was planning to conduct a nuclear test "in the future", although it did not state when.On Monday, 9 October 2006 at 01:35:28 (UTC) the United States Geological Survey detected a magnitude 4.3 seismic event 70 km (43 mi) north of Kimchaek, North Korea indicating a nuclear test. The North Korean government announced shortly afterward that they had completed a successful underground test of a nuclear fission device. In 2007, reports from Washington suggested that the 2002 CIA reports stating that North Korea was developing an enriched uranium weapons program, which led to North Korea leaving the NPT, had overstated or misread the intelligence.

It does not take a Ph.D in political sciences to realize Iranians are using the North Korea play book.
 In other words...why anyone with reasonable intelligence would not think that Iran will do EXACTLY the same? Buying time with "negotiations" that they well know, as much as any reasonable person knows after the North Korean program, are being help to complete the development and test of their first nuclear weapon and create a new arms race throughout the entire already volatile Middle East.

But what does President Barack Hussein Obama cares of? Being first? Being the First colored president of the United States of America, being the first recipient of a Nobel Peace prize even though he had NEVER done anything significant to promote or advance peace at a Global scale.  And now is trying to be the First President to broke a deal between Israelis and Palestinians and achieve the illusory TWO-STATE solution, and of course, be the First U.S. President to "normalize" diplomatic relations with Iran.

That is what the American people elected, not once, but twice,  A man who only cares to be in the annals of history as the First to achieve anything of any kind of significance or transcendence.

  Scott Reed, senior political strategist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said “The need is now more than ever to elect people who understand the free market and not silliness.”

We wish it was only silliness. The problem with the Tea Part group is that it is composed  primarily by ideologue fanatics, no different from their Islamic extremist fanatics. In this instance, the Tea Party members preferred to launch the Nations credit rating into a spiral, which as a consequence would have brought in catastrophic effects on the world economies. But, what else to expect from a group that denies sciences and are bent on simply oppose anything that the current Administration brings in to the table? What else you can expect of a group composed of Extreme Right Wing Christian fanatics who want to trigger an Apocalyptic event that will bring the advent of the alleged "savior" of mankind? This is the tragedy of religious fanaticism when they are empowered with enough money to buy candidates and put them on key positions of our Constitutional Government. May G-d definitely have mercy upon us, those who prefer to find middle ground and compromise for the sake of our Country as a whole, not for the sake of one fringe ideal and the group that represents them.

Neither has Mr. Obama who, as we all know made a press conference on the Zimmerman matter a few days after the controversial verdict. Of course, it is politically correct for African Americans to assault and batter Caucasians.

Obama is giving Putin the cold shoulder

Although it can be said that the Snowden incident is the last straw on a series of  disagreements between the leaders of the 2 most powerful nations. Being the support the Kremlin has given to the Assad regime in the Syrian war  on the top of the list.

Kudos to Mr. Obama for this decision, a line had to be drawn, and he just did that.

Although we applaud his arrest,  it is illusory and naive to think it will break cartel's hold on Mexico. His lieutenants must be, by now, plotting to kill each other in an attempt to seize power in the cartel. It is how that business works, with blood, sweat and bullets.The government should have seized the opportunity to simply crush them, but the priority was to just parade Trevino in a good old fashioned publicity stunt.

Jury finda Goerge Zimmerman not guilty on all charges

As I expected, and any reasonable legal mind should have, a Florida jury acquitted Mr. George Zimmerman on all the charges in the tragic shooting of Trayvon Martin back in February 2012.

Dear readers, let's remember our criminal justice system's foundation is that the prosecution must prove his case beyond reasonable doubt. In a society easily influenced by the media, it is easy to loose our perspective. Let's keep that in mind.

As the Judge reminded the jury, I remind everyone,

"Your verdict should not be influenced by feelings of prejudice, bias or sympathy," Judge Debra Nelson told the jury, reading from a 27-page set of instructions. "Your verdict must be based on the evidence, and on the law contained in these instructions."

This was not a slam dunk case, like the infamous Rodney King case more than 2 decades ago. The Zimmerman case was polluted by reasonable doubt from the get go. Are we to send a person to jail under such circumstances?

I  agree with many legal experts who thought the prosecution had a weak case based largely on circumstantial evidence. Some said the state could possibly succeed if they appealed to the emotions of jurors. However, sympathy was not supposed to play a part in the verdict and defense attorneys reminded jurors of that fact repeatedly.

 

Russia orders typewritters to prevent data leaks

After a flurry of headlines involving international espionage and intelligence leaks, Russia is taking an old-fashioned approach to the new face of security: the humble typewriter.

The Telegraph reports that the Federal Guard Service (FSO) has placed an order for 20 German-made electric typewriters. The FSO is an agency tasked with Russian communications and President Vladimir Putin's safety.

The FSO declined to comment to The Telegraph on the reason behind the order, but told Russia's Izvestiya paper it was concerned with protecting their national secrets from leaking.

"After scandals with the distribution of secret documents by WikiLeaks, the exposes by Edward Snowden, reports about Dmitry Medvedev being bugged during his visit to the G20 London summit (in 2009), it has been decided to expand the practice of creating paper documents," the source told Izvestiya.

 

That is what I call creativity. Obviously,  printing physical documents alone ensures that data isn't stored on a computer drive, preventing anyone from making a copy, hacking into servers full of confidential data, or leaking said data to the press. Not to mention that you can easily hold accountable whoever is in charge of typing and archiving classified documents for any leaks if they manage to make it out of the chain of custody.

Obama dissapointed with China over Snowden

Has the President realized that China is not an ally? I wonder if also thinks that Russia is a trustful friend.  That is all I have to say about this particular news.
